Get Prepared for Winter Ways

Like it or not, Jack Frost is edging in on us at quite a rapid pace. And should you happen to stay on the East Coast, you are already enjoying winter’s windy ways. Right? Okay, so maybe not — which was a mean trick which Mother Nature played with you guys. However, either way, unless you live where there’s no snow in sight, winter will likely surprise us with widespread blankets of white fluffy snow for weeks and weeks.

Are you really prepared for the chilly wrath of winter? If you aren’t, it’s probably a good time to begin thinking about what you need in order to make it throughout the entire season with a smile. Obviously, it’d be fantastic if we all had our own personal snow plowing services. But if you aren’t lucky enough to have any links and aren’t ready to shell out a few hundred bucks on a snow blower, then this listing is right for you.

Ice Chopper – $31.95

Ice chopper. This tool is wonderful to have when water starts to spill out of the gutters, finally developing a sheet of ice to the ground below. As opposed to piling a pile of salt on the ice, you can break it up first and then push it off. This one is especially dandy since it’s purple.

The Home Depot

Galvanized trash can. If you reside in an area which requires salting the driveway many times a icy months, you might as well move your salt into a bin a little more aesthetically pleasing than the original plastic bag. 10 Quart Multi Purpose Bucket – $5.99

Lowe’s

True Temper Snow Roof Rake – $32.96

Roof rake. Growing up, I hadn’t ever heard of a roof rake, mainly since the pitch of the roof was relatively steep.

However, when my husband and I settled in our ranch-style home, we were quick to observe the snow on top never really went anywhere. It just kept piling higher and higher.

Off to the shop we trudged to purchase ourselves a roof rake, allowing for snow removal from ground level.
Just make sure you do the job until you shovel your driveway. Don’t ask me how I know this.
