8 Wonderful Paint Palettes for Fearless Color Lovers

With so many gorgeous paint colors available, why stick with what’s secure and common? Now that is not to knock neutrals, as a quick browse on reveals numerous eye catching, exquisite interiors with toned-down colour palettes. However, many of you are looking for more colour — and some of you need extreme colour.

If this describes you, then my advice is to have fun with it! But do not just randomly select three or even four snappy colors and slap them onto the walls — you might wind up getting the Skittles result: a riot of crying colour that many will find overly busy or garish. Have a look at these tips on how to combine bold colors in an interior space, as well as images and examples of paint palettes comprising bold colour combinations.

1. Turquoise, Dill and Ink

A good idea for working with multiple daring colors is to stick with a cool or warm palette. It’s less jarring than a mix of numerous intense warm and cool colors. Here we have a cooler palette of turquoise, dill and a dark hue blue, lightened with a dose of white furniture and accessories.

2. Carrot, Magenta and Plum

This colour adheres into the warm side of the colour wheel also illustrates another strategy for working with daring colors: Have one of your overriding colors be vibrant to function as a grounding colour. This plum shade has some black in it, which grays out it and turns it into a neutral background for the intense orange and pink.

3. Neon Green, Hot Pink and Grape

This room features a mix of intense warm and warm colors, with accents of white, but the majority of the colour in the room is restricted to shades of green or purple-pink.

4. Bright Coral, Sky Blue and Dark walnut

Here’s another room mixing a daring warm colour with a daring cool colour. Because all of the rest of the colors are neutrals, both bold colors play together well. I also think it works since the bold colors are used in fairly monolithic ways. Rather than little bits of red and blue here and there — that could seem busy — there are large isolated chunks of the colors. The red seats actually stand outside and contrast well against the background of blue.

5. Sea Blue, Saffron and Tangerine

This is a very daring and lively palette, but you can get away with such intensity in regions of your home where people simply pass through, such as entrances, halls and stairwells. You might not wish to paint your bedroom in electric shades of orange and yellow, but to your home’s entry, do it!

6. Grass Green, Watery Blue and Spring Green

These are zingy colors by themselves, but they function in harmony together since they are analogous colors — near one another on the colour wheel. Cool colors are soothing, making them the ideal selection for a relaxing bedroom or a spa-like toilet.

8. Emerald, Mint and Powder Blue

Another suggestion for a colorful space that doesn’t overwhelm is to select two colors you love and then use various shades of these with a light neutral, such as white, gray or beige. Here we have shades of blue and minty green functioning together with white.
